What it is
The Kunsthaus opened in 1997. Its concrete structure is wrapped in a skin of etched glass panels that catch the changing light of the lake, and inside, daylight enters the four exhibition floors through glass ceilings. There is no permanent collection: each year a small number of solo exhibitions by internationally known artists fill the whole building.
The separate black KUB Café and shop building on the square in front belongs to the museum.
Getting there by bus
The Inselstraße/Kornmarkt stop (line 101) is about 120 metres away, and Hafen Bahnhof, by the harbour, about 160 metres. Bregenz Bahnhof is a few minutes' walk along the lakeshore.
The vorarlberg museum and the Landestheater are on the same square, the Kornmarkt.
