What it is
The cathedral was designed by the Brisbane architect F. D. G. Stanley and completed in 1899 as the seat of the Catholic Diocese of Rockhampton. Its tall nave, pointed arches and stained-glass windows make it one of the most important Gothic Revival churches in regional Queensland, and it is listed on the Queensland Heritage Register.
The cathedral stands on William Street, a short walk west of the city centre.
