What it is
The museum takes its name from Cobb & Co, the coach company whose services once linked towns across eastern Australia; the last Cobb & Co coach in Queensland ran in 1924. Its collection of carriages, coaches and wagons is one of the largest of its kind in the country.
Workshops in blacksmithing, saddlery and other heritage trades keep traditional skills alive, and interactive galleries on science and the Darling Downs region make it a good visit for families.
Getting there by bus
Route 903 serves the museum, with stops on Bridge Street (Bridge St at TAFE College and Bridge Street at Southern Queensland TAFE College) and the hail ’n’ ride section on Mary St near Warren St, all about four to five minutes away.
The museum is also around fifteen minutes on foot from Toowoomba bus station, where route 903 starts.
