What it is
Laurel Bank Park began as a private garden and was handed over to the city in the 1930s. It is now one of Toowoomba’s showpiece gardens, listed on the Queensland Heritage Register, with neatly kept lawns, annual flower displays, clipped hedges and a scented garden designed to be enjoyed by touch and smell.
The park also has a playground and picnic areas, and in spring it is one of the busiest spots of the Carnival of Flowers.
Getting there by bus
Routes 905 and 907 stop on Margaret Street, at Margaret St at St Marys College and Margaret St at Clifford Street, about five minutes on foot from the park. Routes 901 and 902 stop at Clifford St at Clifford West, a similar walk away.
All of these routes start from Toowoomba bus station in the city centre.
