What it is
Toowoomba, on the edge of the Great Dividing Range, calls itself the Garden City, and Queens Park, close to the centre, is its best-known garden. The botanic gardens at its corner have formal beds, a rose collection and mature trees, while the rest of the park is open parkland with sports grounds and picnic areas.
Each September the Carnival of Flowers fills the park with large flower displays, and the gardens are at their most colourful in spring.
Getting there by bus
Route 904 stops on Kitchener Street (Kitchener St at Clopton Street and Kitchener Street at Phillip St) and at Margaret St at Neil Street, each about seven to eight minutes on foot from the park.
Toowoomba bus station, the hub for routes 901 to 907, is about ten minutes away through the city centre.
