What it is
Thomond Park is famous for its atmosphere — the crowd's silence during kicks and the roar the rest of the time — and for the day in 1978 when Munster beat New Zealand. The stadium tour takes in the dressing rooms, the dugouts and the pitch side, and the museum covers the history of the province's rugby.
Munster play here in the United Rugby Championship and European Champions Cup from September to May; match tickets go fast.
Getting there by bus
The stadium is about 2 km north-west of the city centre on Cratloe Road. City buses stop at Thomond Park on the road outside, and it is a 25-minute walk from the centre via Thomond Bridge and the castle.
On match days extra shuttle buses run from the city centre.
