In short
- In our timetable data 13 Dublin bus routes run around the clock, every night of the week.
- Routes 15, 39A, 41 and N4 run every 30 minutes through the night; the other 24-hour routes run hourly.

The last Luas trams and DART trains in Dublin leave around midnight. After that the city relies on buses: in the timetables on buses.app, 13 bus routes run around the clock, two more run only at night, and twelve Nitelink routes run in the early hours of Saturday and Sunday. This guide shows which is which, where the buses leave from and what they cost.
When do the last Luas and DART leave?
From Monday to Saturday the last Green Line tram from Parnell to Brides Glen leaves at 00:17 and the last Red Line tram from The Point to Tallaght at 00:30. On Sundays the last departures are an hour earlier, at 23:17 and 23:30. The last DART from Malahide to Bray leaves at 23:55 on weekdays. The first Green Line trams leave at 05:30 on weekdays, 06:30 on Saturdays and 07:00 on Sundays, so there is a gap of several hours with no rail service.
Which Dublin bus routes run 24 hours?
These 13 routes have departures in every hour of the day in our data, seven days a week: 15 (Clongriffin Stn to Dalriada Park), 39A (UCD to Hansfield Road), 41 (Irish Life to Abbeyvale), 80 (Liffey Valley SC to Palmerston Park), C1 and C2 (St John's Church to Adamstown Station), E1 (Northwood to Southern Cross), E2 (Harristown Depot to Dun Laoghaire Stn), F1 (IKEA Ballymun to Tallaght Square), F2 (Charlestown SC to Orwell Park Grn), G1 (Castleforbes Road to Red Cow Luas), G2 (Castleforbes Road to Liffey Valley SC) and N4 (Point Village to Blanchardstown SC).
Between midnight and 05:00, routes 15, 39A, 41 and N4 run every 30 minutes in each direction. The other nine run about once an hour. C1 and C2 share the same two ends, so check both timetables if either route suits you.
What are routes C5 and C6?
C5 and C6 run only at night. Both start at Ringsend Road: C5 runs to Hayfield and C6 to Maynooth Station. Each has five departures in each direction every night of the week, about one an hour, leaving Ringsend Road between roughly 00:05 and 04:35. On buses.app they are listed with the ordinary bus routes, not under the night filter.
Which night buses run at weekends?
Twelve routes with a number ending in n make up the Nitelink network: 7n, 29n, 31n, 33n, 42n, 46n, 49n, 69n, 70n, 77n, 84n and 88n. In our data they run only in the early hours of Saturday and Sunday, that is, after Friday and Saturday nights out, and only outbound from the city centre. Routes 7n, 29n, 31n, 42n, 46n, 49n, 77n and 84n leave from D'Olier Street, routes 33n, 70n and 88n from Westmoreland Street, and route 69n from Aston Quay.
Routes 7n, 29n, 31n and 42n leave every hour from 00:00 to 04:00, and 46n at 00:30 and then hourly from 01:00 to 04:00. Routes 69n, 70n, 77n and 84n have three departures, at 00:00, 02:00 and 04:00; 88n leaves at 00:30, 02:00 and 04:00. Route 33n leaves at 00:00, 01:30, 02:30 and 04:00, and 49n at 00:00, 02:00, 03:00 and 04:00.
The Dublin night buses page lists 16 routes, because it also includes 500N, N2, N4 and N6. Of these only N4 runs all night. N2 and N6 are daytime routes whose last buses leave around midnight, and 500N has late evening departures from Eden Quay to Swords Village and Ormond Avenue: 23:30 and 23:45 on weekdays and 00:30 at weekends.
How much does a night bus cost in Dublin?
At the time of writing (October 2026), Nitelink costs €2.40 with a TFI Leap Card or €3.10 in cash; young adults and students pay €1.20 and children €1.00 with Leap. Nitelink is not covered by the TFI 90 fare and does not count towards the daily or weekly cap.
The 24-hour routes are ordinary city bus routes, so the normal fares apply at night too: the TFI 90 fare of €2.00 with Leap, which includes changes within 90 minutes, or €1.50 for a short trip. The Leap day for the €6.00 daily cap runs from 04:30 to 04:29, so a trip at 02:00 still counts towards the cap of the day before. If you pay cash on Dublin Bus, the machine takes coins only and gives no change. The TFI 90 fare is due to rise to €2.30 in January 2027. See the Dublin ticket page and our Leap Card guide.
How do I get to the airport or out of the city at night?
Three airport routes in our data run through the night. Route 700 runs between Clayton Hotel and Terminal 1 by way of O'Connell St Upr at least once an hour, route 787 runs hourly between Travelodge Ballymun and the airport, and route 783 has overnight departures from Terminal 1 to Terenure Road West by way of Aston Quay. Route 101 leaves Dublin Busáras for Drogheda once an hour all night. These are not city routes and their fares are not on our Dublin ticket page, so check the price with the operator.
