What it is
Beethoven came to Baden for fifteen summers to take the cure, hoping it would help his health and his hearing. In this house on Rathausgasse he composed large parts of the Ninth Symphony in 1823. The museum, reopened in 2014, recreates his modest rooms and uses sound installations to give an idea of how Beethoven experienced music as his deafness progressed.

Getting there by bus
The Brusattiplatz stop (lines B and C) is about 80 metres from the house, and Josefsplatz, served by lines A, B, C and 308 and the terminus of the Badner Bahn from Vienna, is about 200 metres away.
The Hauptplatz is just around the corner.
