What it is
Holy Trinity is the Anglican church of central Mackay and is listed on the Queensland Heritage Register. The parish dates back to the early years of the town, and the church grounds with their mature trees form a quiet corner just off the main shopping streets.
The church is a good starting point for a walk through central Mackay, where many buildings were rebuilt in the Art Deco style after the cyclone of 1918.
Getting there by bus
Alfred St at Sydney Street, served by routes 301, 302 and 303, is about three minutes away. Gregory St at Gregory Lane, used by routes 300, 301, 302, 303, 305, 309 and 310, is also within an easy walk.
Most Mackay routes pass through the city centre, so this is one of the simplest places in town to reach by bus.
