What it is
Kings Beach is popular with families thanks to the saltwater pool beside the beach, the interactive water fountains and the shaded parkland along the foreshore. The Kings Beach Bathing Pavilion from the 1930s is heritage-listed. Swimming in the surf is safest between the flags, which lifeguards set out on the patrolled section.
The Coastal Walk runs past the beach, south to Bulcock Beach and the Pumicestone Passage, and north around the headlands to Moffat Beach.
Getting there by bus
Routes 600 and 607 stop on Moreton Pde at Levuka Avenue and at Mahia Terrace, about 250 metres from the beach. Route 600 links Caloundra with Kawana, Mooloolaba and Maroochydore, and route 607 runs via Kawana to the university.
The centre of Caloundra and Bulcock Street are about ten minutes' walk away.
