Graz, the capital of Styria, is best explored by tram. Trams and city buses run by Graz Linien cover the whole city, and the same tickets are valid on the S-Bahn within Graz. At the time of writing (September 2026) an hourly ticket for zone 101 costs €3.30 and a 24-hour ticket €7.20.
How does the Graz tram network work?
Trams are the fastest way to cross the city centre. Our Graz timetables list 15 tram services: the main lines 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, further lines such as 11, 14, 16, 17 and 23, combined services (for example 1/7 or 4/6) and the seasonal Sommerbim. Most tram lines meet at Jakominiplatz, the central interchange just south of the old town, where you can change between almost all lines.

Which buses run in Graz?
City buses reach the districts and suburbs between the tram lines. Our data covers more than 40 bus lines in Graz, most of them numbered in the 30s to 80s (for example 31, 34, 39, 40, 58, 63 or 82). Some lines have variants marked with a letter, such as 34E, 41E or 64E. Buses and trams share stops in many places, so changing is easy.

Are there night buses in Graz?
Yes. Graz has nine night lines, N1 to N9, which take over after the regular trams and buses stop. The normal tickets of zone 101 are valid on night lines too. You can check the departures of every night line on our Graz night lines page before heading out.
How much is a bus or tram ticket in Graz?
Graz belongs to the Styrian transport association (Verbund Linie), and the whole city is one fare zone, zone 101. Prices rose by about 3.5% on 1 July 2026. At the time of writing (September 2026) the fares for zone 101 are:
- Hourly ticket (Stundenkarte): €3.30, unlimited trips on trams, buses and S-Bahn in the zone for one hour. Half price €1.70 for children aged 6 to 14; reduced €2.10 for young people aged 15 to 18 and seniors with the ÖBB Vorteilscard Senior.
- 24-hour ticket (24-Stunden-Karte): €7.20, half price €3.60, reduced €4.50. Groups of six or more get about 20% off.
- Weekly ticket (Wochenkarte): €20.80.
- Monthly ticket (Monatskarte): €69.00.
- 10-zone card (10-Zonen-Karte): €26.90 for ten zone units (€2.69 each), which you can split across several journeys. Half price €13.50.
For a short visit the hourly ticket works for single trips, while the 24-hour ticket pays off from the third trip in a day. If you stay a week, the weekly ticket costs less than seven day tickets.
Is there an annual ticket for Graz?
The KlimaTicket Steiermark covers all public transport in Styria for a year. It costs €532 (classic), €646 (transferable) or €399 for people under 26, seniors and people with disabilities. Residents with their main residence in Graz pay €432 or €324 thanks to a subsidy from the City of Graz.
Do children travel free in Graz?
Children under 6 travel free with an adult, up to four per adult. With the Styrian family pass (ZWEI UND MEHR), children under 15 travel free with their parents, who pay the reduced fare. Small dogs in a carrier also travel free. All prices are collected on our Graz tickets page.
Which Graz ticket should I buy?
For one or two trips, the hourly ticket is enough: it allows unlimited rides on trams, buses and the S-Bahn within zone 101 for a full hour, so a quick errand and the ride back can fit on one ticket. If you plan three or more trips in a day, the 24-hour ticket at €7.20 is cheaper than three hourly tickets at €9.90. For a stay of three days or more, the weekly ticket at €20.80 costs less than three 24-hour tickets (€21.60). Families should remember that children under 6 ride free and children aged 6 to 14 pay only €1.70 for an hourly ticket.
