What it is
Trinity Beach lies roughly 20 kilometres north of the city and is popular with residents for swimming, picnics and walks along the sand. Vasey Esplanade runs along the foreshore with shaded lawns, barbecues and a playground, and the headland at the southern end offers views over the Coral Sea.
The beach is patrolled by lifeguards, and a stinger net is usually set up in the season; swim between the flags.
Getting there by bus
Route 111 and the night service 110N stop at Trinity Beach Rd at Vasey Street, right by the beach, coming from Cairns City bus station. Further stops on Trinity Beach Road and Anderson Street serve the rest of the suburb.
The main route 110 runs along the Captain Cook Highway, so check that your bus turns into Trinity Beach before boarding.
