What it is
The museum's main gallery runs through Kerry's history from the first settlers to the twentieth century, with the Bronze Age gold and the story of the Earls of Desmond. The Medieval Experience recreates the streets, sounds and smells of Tralee in 1450, and the Tom Crean exhibition honours the Annascaul man who served on three Antarctic expeditions with Scott and Shackleton.
The hall itself, a 1928 memorial to Thomas Ashe, faces the Town Park.
Getting there by bus
The museum is at the bottom of Denny Street, Tralee's Georgian main street, two minutes from the Square. Town buses stop on Denny Street outside (Tralee Denny Street stop), and the bus and railway station is a ten-minute walk.
The Town Park and Siamsa Tíre are next door.
