What it is
Q1 was for some years the tallest residential building in the world, and its slender shape was inspired by the Olympic torch. The SkyPoint observation deck, reached by a high-speed lift, gives a 360-degree view along the coast from the Gold Coast hinterland ranges to the beaches of the south, and on clear days towards Brisbane.
The deck has a café and bar, and SkyPoint Climb takes groups up an external staircase on the spire.
Getting there by bus
Surfers Paradise light rail station (L1) is directly beside the tower, less than 50 metres from the entrance on Surfers Paradise Boulevard. Buses 705 and 731 stop on Remembrance Drive at Markwell Avenue, about 170 metres away.
The beach and Cavill Avenue are a few minutes' walk to the south.
