What it is
Croke Park is the headquarters of the Gaelic Athletic Association and hosts the All-Ireland hurling and football finals in July and August, along with big concerts. Hill 16, the terrace at the railway end, is built on rubble from the 1916 Rising, and Bloody Sunday of 1920 took place on the pitch.
On non-match days you can take a stadium tour, visit the GAA Museum or do the Skyline walk around the roof, 44 metres up.
Getting there by bus
The stadium is in Drumcondra, about 20 minutes' walk north of O'Connell Street. Buses along Drumcondra Road and Clonliffe Road stop a few minutes away, and Ballybough Road stops are closest to the museum entrance; Drumcondra railway station is a ten-minute walk.
On match days the surrounding streets close and buses are diverted — walk from the city centre and allow plenty of time.
